Jason Daniel Voinov's Obituary
Jason Daniel Voinov found eternal peace and entered heaven on January 12, 2025, at the age of 50.
Jason was born in Dallas, Texas to Marsha and Bill Voinov. He lived his entire life in Lake Highlands and graduated from Lake Highlands High School. Jason was a gifted athlete and loved participating in all sports. His favorite sport was baseball, and he loved playing catcher for many years. He proudly attended Auburn University where he received a degree in Marketing in 1998 and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He returned to Dallas following graduation, and he discovered a passion for photography leading to a lifelong career photographing events, individuals, nature and his family. He also loved working at Cooter’s Village Camera Shop and developed several friendships with his loyal customers.
Jason spent many hours of his life behind a camera capturing the beauty of nature and joy in the subjects he photographed. When Jason was photographing others, he was truly at home. He spent countless hours ensuring each photograph was perfect, and his clients could see his love and dedication in their beautiful photos. For numerous families throughout the Dallas metroplex, he was their photographer of choice to take Christmas cards or photograph various celebrations and events. Many of his clients became friends due to Jason’s skill behind the lens and sincere nature. His clients would often say that he was the only photographer that made their children smile. He loved photographing events for the Center for Brain Health, Homes for Hope, Retina Foundation, to name a few, because he knew he was part of organizations that sought to help others.
Jason had a great fondness for music (especially anything from the 1970’s), guitars, cameras and riding one of his many bikes around White Rock Lake. He was an active member of Grace Church Lake Highlands and loved photographing the members of his church family. One of his last series of pictures was taken at the Christmas Eve Service at Grace Church Lake Highlands. He captured the beauty of their candlelight service which will always be treasured. He faithfully served his church weekly by volunteering at the Network of Community Ministries mobile food pantry benefiting Thurgood Marshall Elementary.
His niece and nephews adored their loving Uncle Jason, and he found immense joy photographing them as they grew throughout the years. He patiently taught each of them how to use cameras, play the guitar, ride electric bikes and see the beauty in nature with photography. His kindness and humility made everyone he met feel seen and loved. Jason enjoyed talking to neighbors on his daily walks with his beloved dog, Champ and later Bella. He devoted many hours of loving care to his mother Marsha during the last years of her life, and they shared a beautiful bond with their artistic gifts and passion for music. Jason and his father loved going to the best burger restaurants in Dallas and finding unique vintage collectibles. His sister and brother-in-law will greatly miss their daily heartfelt conversations and frequent family dinners. The entire family will miss Jason’s infectious laugh that made everyone smile.
Jason is survived by his sister Amanda Voinov Hamilton; brother-in-law Rhodes Witte Hamilton; nephews: Rhodes William Hamilton, Andrew John Hamilton, Daniel Witte Hamilton and his niece Mary Evelyn Hamilton of Dallas Texas; his Uncle Jerry Lance Tuttle; Aunt Karen Tuttle; cousins Nick and Bonnie Tuttle; Aunt Georgine Boucher, cousins Diana Moffett and Melissa Washington.
