Jaspal Kaur (1949 – 2025)
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jaspal Kaur, who departed this life on April 3, 2025, in Lewisville, Texas. Born in a small village in Punjab, she spent her early years in the serene mountains of Kalka before moving to Ferozepur, Punjab, where her father worked for the Northern Railways. They eventually settled down in the sacred town of Amritsar after her father retired.
Jaspal Kaur was the cherished daughter of Sardar Ajaib Singh Jabbal and Bibi Maya Kaur. She was the only daughter among four siblings in the Jabbal family and is survived by her brother, Sardar Harjinder Singh Jabbal.
Jaspal Kaur was married to late Sardar Piara Singh for 53 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love and resilience. She is survived by her two sons, Manjit Sohal and Rajendra Sohal, and their spouses Anita Issar and Pawan Kaur. Her legacy continues through her five beloved grandchildren: Simran Sohal, Saniya Sohal, Omkaar Sohal, Ronak Sohal, and Samaira Sohal.
A devoted homemaker, Jaspal Kaur skillfully managed her household while raising her two sons during her husband's frequent travels for his job with the Railways and his posting in Zimbabwe for 3 years. Her strength and dedication were evident in every aspect of her life.
Jaspal Kaur was an exceptional cook who embraced diverse culinary traditions, mastering dishes from Maharashtrian and Gujarati cuisines alongside her Punjabi roots. She also had a talent for stitching and initially created clothing for everyone in her household. A devout Sikh, she regularly attended the gurdwara and actively participated in community events such as langar preparation and other community activities..
Known for her kind-hearted nature and soft-spoken demeanor, Jaspal Kaur instilled strong values in her children and grandchildren. Her legacy of compassion, humility, and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on April 9, 2025, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, followed by Kirtan and Ardaas at the Richardson Gurdwara. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice to honor Jaspal Kaur's spirit of giving.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
