Jay Nelson Journeay, 82, of Garland, TX died January 30, 2021 in Garland, TX. He was born October 7, 1938 to Jay Journeay Sr. and Lillie Mae Journeay in Los Angeles, CA. He married Donnie Journeay on May 24, 1974 in Durant, OK. He was retired from Richardson ISD in maintenance. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. He served in the US Army from 1960-1966 as a Sergeant. He is survived by his wife, Donnie Journeay of Garland TX, son Doug Kendrick (Janet) of Poetry, TX, son Jason Kendrick (Becky) of Lindal, TX, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was a preceded in death by his parents Jay and Lille Mae Journeay.
Jay was affectionally known as "Pop" to his family. Pop was extremely proud of his grandkids and great-grand kids. In the military he was recognized as an expert with both rifle and carbine. He had a lifelong love of guns and shooting.
