Jay Michael Palmer, 68, died March 9, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Mike, as his friends and family knew him, was the oldest son of George Arthur Palmer and Alta Jean Keeling Palmer, born January 15, 1947 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Predeceased by both parents, Mike is survived by his Partner, Sharon Palmer of Richardson, TX; Daughter, Austan Palmer of Richardson, TX; Son, Jon Palmer of Richardson, TX; Son, Billy Palmer and wife Lisa Palmer of Rowlett, TX; Granddaughter, Sydney Palmer and husband Michael Bocancollins; Granddaughter, Rayleigh Palmer of Rowlett, TX; Granddaughter, Quincy Palmer of Rowlett, TX; Brother, Mark Palmer and wife Debbie Palmer of Celina, TX; Brother, George Palmer and wife Martha Palmer of St. Petersburg, FL; Sister, Debbie Robertson and husband Charles Robertson of Little Rock, AR; Nephew, Brian Palmer of Frisco, TX; Niece , Rachel Collier and husband Mike Collier of Beaumont, TX; Niece, Sarah Thomas of Little Rock, AR; Nephew, Casey Thomas of Little Rock, AR; Nephew, John Cortez and wife Liza Cortez of St. Petersburg, FL; Niece, Patty Cortez of St. Petersburg, FL; Niece, Melissa Starling and husband Jeremy of St. Petersburg, FL. Mike attended Texas Tech on a golf scholarship, and completed his degree at University of North Texas. After 18 years with Sherwin Williams Companies, Mike worked with his brother Mark at the Lake Doctor, an aquatic resource management company. Mike was a great fan of golf, especially trying to beat his brothers, country music, college football, and enjoying his family. Respected and cherished by all who knew him, Mike will be greatly missed. The visitation for Jay Palmer will held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Jay will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 12:00 PM in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243 Mike asked that memorial donations be made to assist Lauren Brown, close friend of his daughter Austan, who is battling Ewing’s Sarcoma.
