--Eulogy Continued--
I’ll wrap up this rambling eulogy with a couple more thoughts.
I imagine you know who Garrison Keillor is, from Prairie Home Companion. First of all, I take comfort in Garrison Keillor’s comment: “It's a shallow life that doesn't give a person a few scars.” Oh yea! That is worth saying again: “It's a shallow life that doesn't give a person a few scars.” Jay had a few physical and emotional scars, like the rest of us, he certainly did not live a shallow life.
Finally, a poem for Jay:
Your actions were always kind
A generous hand and an active mind
Anxious to please and loath to offend
A loving brother and faithful friend
During his life Jay was my mentor. After having talked with family and friends and hearing stories about him that I had never heard, I know that in his afterlife he is still mentoring me.
