Hi Kendall I am so very sorry to be writing this short note, your father was always the best competitor and friend. I will never forget meeting him the first time in 1979, I came into this territory as green as they come and Jay couldn't have been nicer to me. I remember him a Paul Lande, not seeing eye to eye at one of the State Bty Supply SM in Tulsa. Your father will be missed by everyone in our business. Jay's sister, Roberta, died June, 2008 after a 12 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was my wife for 51 years and Jay became my friend as well as a close brother-in-law. Our friendship continued and we corresponded by email continuously–I sent one the day before his death and his response will never arrive. I have fond memories of wonderful days together at Kendall and Claire's wedding in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Although I remarried, Jay will always be in my family. I regret not going to this memorial because of a travel commitment for my own anniversary.
What can you say about Jay Stone in a few words. Never met a kinder, gentler human being. Always that big smile, kind words, and a joke or 2. Always asked in the most sincere way about your life, family, pets etc… He was an Icon in the beauty industry and a truer friend.
