JD Vinson's Obituary
JD Vinson, 86, of Dallas, Texas, was born June 7, 1925, in Rowell, Arkansas to Alex and Minnie Lee Vinson. He passed away June 18, 2011, in Dallas, Texas after a long and courageous battle with a subdural brain hemorrhage. JD served in the U.S. Navy as a signalman third class in the Pacific during WWII. After the war JD worked at Texas Instruments for 32 years as an operating engineer. He served as a faithful member of both the Oaklawn Methodist Church and the Jewel P. Lightoot Masonic Lodge. JD is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Lorene Cole Vinson, his sisters Mildred Patrick, and husband Wilburn, Loraine Sipes, his brother William A. Vinson and wife Esther, daughters Carolyn Vinson Hull and husband Steve, Janet Vinson Beard and husband Joe, grandchildren Christi Wolverton and Steven Hull, Jr. and dearly loved by many wonderful friends and extended family. The family expresses our sincerest appreciation for the loving care JD received at Silverado Senior Living – Turtle Creek.Visitation to be held Sunday, June 19th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services on Monday, June 20th at 12:00 noon in Abbey Chapel, located in Restland Cemetery.
