Jean Alice Burge's Obituary
Jean Browning Burge was loaned to the Lord on February 4, 2017, due to her Parkinson’s disease. She went there to do His work above. Her assigned duties may include: oil painting of beautiful clouds and rainbows, since she painted here; teacher, since she taught school; business organizer, as she operated two enterprises; and any other assignments, because she was successful at every thing on earth. She graduated from SMU with highest honors (Phi Beta Kappa). Jean was born in Norborne, MO on July 13, 1927 to Roy and Marjorie Browning. She grew up the third of four sisters and three brothers. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gail Browning, and her sisters Fay Joe Hubbard, Nancy Floyd, Myrtle Clark, and Helen Waters. She is survived by her son, Stephen Burge and his wife, Shelley Burge; and her granddaughters Courtney Burge of Falls Church, VA and Megan Burge of Lewisville, Texas her brothers, Lt. Col. (Ret.) William Browning of Eldorado Springs, MO; John R. Browning of Los Angeles, CA; and many nephews and nieces. Jean married John R Burge, Jr. on Oct. 12, 1946. We are appreciative of the family caretakers Clarissa, Betty, Angelina, and Sophia. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home February 11, 2017. The funeral will occur immediately thereafter (Approximately 10:00 AM). May Jean rest in peace. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
