Jean Owens Connell's Obituary
Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Jean went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, George on December 16, 2015. She was born November 27, 1921, in Dallas to Homer and Cecil Owens. She was the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. John W. Sparkman, who settled in Dallas in 1882. During WWII, Jean and their children followed George, an Air Force pilot instructor, to various bases from Garden City, Kansas, to Victoria, Texas. She was totally devoted to her family and always available to help with her nine grandchildren. She and George enjoyed traveling and spending time at the Channels Ranch in Montana and Coon Creek in East Texas. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, George T. Connell, and son, George T . (Pete) Connell, Jr. She is survived by those who will miss her dearly: daughter, Barbie Stewart and husband, Tommy; son, Mark Connell and wife, Laurie; granchildren, Tom Stewart, Jr., Michael Stewart, Katy Kenney, Bryan Connell, Scott Connell, Lauren Connell, Cyndi Dupuis, Nancy Christensen, Alicia Miles and 15 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be held in Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church, on Monday, December 21st at 11 :00 AM.
