Jean S. Davis' Obituary
Jean was born March 1, 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas to Millard and Pearl Stallings. She was reunited with her Lord and her beloved Tom on June 7, 2015. Jean grew up in Forth Worth and graduated from Paschal High School, attended TCU and graduated from The University of Texas in Austin in 1950. She was an active member of Delta Gamma sorority. Jean and Tom Davis were married on June 18, 1949 in Forth Worth. After their graduation they moved to Abilene, Tx and later to Dallas where they raised their family and spent 61 years of marriage until Tom’s death in 2011. Jean possessed a competitive spirit, loving board games, water skiing, and golf. The game she loved most over the years was bridge hosting parties with friends. She was still playing up until the last year. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters and her husband Tom. She is survived by son Chuck Davis and his wife Pam, daughter DeAnn Turner and her husband Tom, two grandsons, Chuck Davis and Jack Davis and his wife Bonnie. Our many thanks to the Forum at Park Lane and their staff for the past 4 ½ years making Jean’s days comfortable. A special thanks to Eboni Gonzales for her extra help and caring. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 2:00 pm at the Park Cities Presbyterian Church, on Oak Lawn. A reception will follow the service. Rev. Bill Lamberth will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Park Cities Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
