Jean G. Cox's Obituary
Jean passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on July 8, 2010. She was diagnosed with cancer a year ago but never lost her great sense of humor. Born in Dallas on August 17, 1922 to Walter and Jewel Gregg, she was a long time resident of Dallas and Plano. She graduated from Sunset High School in 1940, attended SMU, and retired from Texas Instruments in 1989. Jean is survived by her brother Jimmy Davenport of CA, as well as her daughter Kay Barton (Jim) Cerniglia, 2 sons George (Vonnie) Cox, Robert (April) Cox, son in law Scott Mays and her numerous grandchildren (Christina, Jean, Craig, Cody, Morgan, Cory,Taylor and Kelly). She was proceeded in death by her parents, and daughter Ruth Ann Mays. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the caregivers that made her final days so peaceful. Visitation with the family will be at Restland Funeral Home on Sunday, July 11 from 3:00 – 5:00 with funeral service on Monday, July 12 at 1:00 at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland.
