Jean Victoria Griffin's Obituary
Beloved mom, generous grandmother, trusted friend, was born May 17, 1922 in Los Angeles, CA and went home to be with her heavenly Father, October 21, 2008 in Carrollton, TX. She grew up in Leavenworth, KS, and married her high school sweetheart, Jack Cailey Griffin in 1943. She was a charter member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Dallas where she frequently helped at the Clothes Horse. While occasionally working outside her Richardson home at Texas Instruments and Sears and volunteering as a Candy Striper at Richardson General Hospital, her primary passion was serving her family. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, Victor and Dorothy Barnes, and her twin infant daughters, Jacqueline and Janneline. She is survived by sons, Jim Griffin and wife Karen of Frisco, TX, Jay Griffin of Phoenix, AZ, and Jerry Griffin and wife Paige of Mt. Pleasant, TX. She had seven precious grandchildren, Shannon Jahn, Sharon Hawkins, Chris Griffin, John Griffin, DeAnna Griffin, Cailey Gray, and Jared Griffin. She was also blessed with four wonderful great grandchildren, Logan Hawkins, Jacob and Nathan Jahn, and Eleanor Gray. Services will be held at 3:30pm, Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Restland Wildwood Chapel with visitation beginning at 2:00pm at the chapel prior to the service. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and management at Autumn Leaves of Carrollton for the love, compassion, and comfort they gave to Jean.
