Jean Charlotte Jordan's Obituary
IN LOVING MEMORY OF JEAN JORDAN
December 13, 1922 – June 30, 2025
Jean C Niver Greene Jordan is a beloved Mother, wife, Daughter, Grandmother, great grandmother and a veteran. She raised five children, lost two husbands. She came from a family of eleven children and lived through the depression and World War II. She taught Sunday school, sewed Halloween costumes, organized the Malmstrom AFB Girl Scouts, and made fancy cakes for special occasions. She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, bowling, dancing, and making Christmas cookies. Jean was a big Rangers and Dallas Cowboy fan. When her husband became ill, she took care of him, and the children while working retail jobs. She was a good mother and taught us what we needed to know to succeed in life, except for cooking. She referred us to the cook book to learn, she would correct our language and refer us to the dictionary. SHE TAUGHT US THRIFT WITHOUT BEING MISERLY.
After we left home, she took us back in when we needed a safe place to land. She had many friends and used to meet them for lunch, skip-bo and other games. She loved crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and scrabble. She was recently honored by the Plano VFW for her service with the Women’s Army Corp during WWII.
Jean was preceded in death by two of her children, Christina K Brady and George E Greene. Her living children are Linda S Greene Martinez, Tommy C Greene, and Judith A Greene. She also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always enjoyed family gatherings and particularly playing with the grandchildren.
JEAN MADE IT TO 102 YEARS OLD. ONE OF HER GRANDCHILDREN ASKED HER HOW LONG WAS SHE GOING TO LIVE. SHE CHUCKLED, SMILING ANSWERED 100. Pausing she then said or ….forever.
Today we celebrate her life. We say farewell for now. THIS IS NOT THE END OF HER LIFE; SHE EMBRACES HER NEW LIFE IN GOD’S GARDEN.
