Jean King Medanich's Obituary
Jean Medanich, age 93, passed away peacefully November 23, 2019, due to congestive heart failure. She was born March 10, 1926, in Donna, Texas. She was married to her life-long love, Frank Medanich, who preceded her in death in 2009.Jean loved to love on people. She did not care what walk of life one came from · our mother was always kind and generous to those who were less fortunate in life. She made friends everywhere she went. She loved God and the way she lived her life showed her love and eternal faithfulness. Her last words to us were “It is well” from one of her favorite hymns. Jean was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her family, friends and caregivers and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandmother. Jean had a vivacious personality and always made people feel loved and special. Our mother volunteered at Fowler Nursing Home, taught Bible studies, counseled young mothers and wives in the church, supported Union Gospel Mission, Wycliffe Bible Translators, and funded the Jean and Frank Medanich Scholarship for students at TCU.Jean is survived by her daughters Melanie Medanich and Midge Hoerl, son-in-law Tom Hoerl, son David and his wife Cindy Medanich, grandchildren Matthew Medanich and his wife Kelly, Michael Medanich and his wife Kiersten, and one great grandchild, Lily Medanich. All of these she so loved and touched deeply. We want to thank our team of doctors, Dr. Sandeep Das, Dr. Julye Carew, Dr. Yili Wang, Dr. Mary Bret, and Dr. Brad Feagin; Mother’s caregivers, Gloria and Grace; and Charles from Faith Presbyterian Hospice. You all greatly improved the quality of her life and for that we will be forever grateful.Funeral service will be held at 12:30 on Monday, December 2, at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas, with Tommy Overton officiating.A private family burial will precede the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Gospel Mission or the Jean and Frank Medanich Scholarship at TCU in Fort Worth.
