Jean Oedewaldt's Obituary
In Honor of the Life of Jean Oedewaldt (1941 – 2023)
Jean Oedewaldt passed away in December 2023 near family in Monterey, California. Jean grew up in the Northwest and lived in many places including attending school and working in Flagstaff and Tuscon Arizona. She raised her daughters in Plano, Texas while working for a financial services company. Upon retirement, she moved to Palo Alto, California to be close to her family.
Jean loved animals, especially dogs and horses and enjoyed riding horses in the deserts of Tucson on moon light nights with the stars so bright like twinkling lights. Jean also had a very special connection to birds. She was an avid bird photographer, capturing and sharing many special moments of hummingbirds, owls and hawks. Jean also leaves us with amazing photographs of butterflies, flowers and vibrant scenery for which we are very grateful.
Jean did volunteer work for church organizations and women’s groups. She was also instrumental in tracing her family’s geneology. Jean was a loving mother and grandmother and her memory will be treasured.
