Jean Christopher Porter's Obituary
Porter, Jean A Memorial Service for Jean Christopher Porter,who died on Oct. 15, will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel on Monday, Oct. 18, at 2:00 p.m. Born Feb. 16, 1919 in Canton, Texas, she grew up in Abilene and graduated from Texas State College for Women. She married Weldon Porter in 1942 and they returned to Texas after the war, living in Pierce, then in Dallas since 1951. She was a long time teacher at the Mary Boswell School and a very active member of Park Cities Baptist Church. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughters, Janice Wilkins and Nancy Michael; sons-in-law, Will Wilkins and Don Michael; grandsons, Christopher Wilkins, his wife Amy, Alexander Wilkins, Mark Senior, and Ed Senior; great-grandchildren Eraina Wilkins and Dalton Senior; sister-in-law, Lillian Ann Lehr and her husband Ralph; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irby and Maud Christopher, her sister Christobel, her beloved husband Weldon and her grandson Michael Senior. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Cities Baptist Church Library or Missions Ministry or a charity of your choice.
