Mrs. Jean Anne Smith's Obituary
Jean Anne Smith passed away peacefully on May 29, 2007. Jean Anne had a passion for life, family, friends and writing. She was a recipient of numerous screen writing awards, including the Texas Film Festival Award in 1997. Jean Anne was born on October 12, 1948 to Arthur Lee and Dorothy Ross. She spent her childhood in Stratford, Texas and graduated from there in 1967. Jean Anne graduated from North Texas State University in 1970 and moved to Dallas following her graduation. She married Ned Smith, the love of her life, in December 1975. In addition to her husband, Jean Anne leaves many beloved family and friends: her brother and sister-in-law, Allan and Sallie Ross; sister, Bonnie Ross; brother and sisters-in-law, Lynn Smith, Laura Smith, Jill Smith and Brenda Dean; her nieces and nephews, Mary Katherine Ross, Sam Ross, Susannah Ross, and Barry Smith; an aunt and uncle , Mary Jo and Fred Walker; a cousin, Dolly Wilson; and numerous other extended family members. She is also survived by her loyal friend of 38 years, Sherri Reed and her adoring cat, Anna Jane. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the SPCA. A memorial service in Jean Anne’s honor will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, at 10:00a.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, Texas. Although family and friends are heartbroken by their loss, they will be comforted by one of Jean Anne’s favorite quotes, ‘ Friends enter and leave our lives, but the impressions that they make on our lives stay with us forever.’
