I loved Aunt Jean. She had a great laugh and fun since of humor. She reminded me of my dad Thomas Goodwin more than any of the other brothers or sister. When I talked to her it was like talking to Daddy. I will miss her and her visits to Austin. Hope Louise, Glen, Bill, Daddy and Jean are having great reunion. Mike Goodwin
"Mama" Jean was very special to me. I met her, Jim and Nancy around 1957 at First Baptist Church, Ruidoso Downs, NM. Nancy and Jim became good friends and I spent many hours at their home. "Mama" Jean and Tollie always treated me like one of their kids and we laughed a lot. She encouraged me to sing a special with Jim and Nancy in church and played for us. "Mama" Jean always greeted me with a hug and smile. Although I didn't get to see her often, she will always hold a special place in my heart. I know she is having a wonderful time in heaven with Jesus, Tollie, their baby, and the many friends and family that have gone on before.
Jean would always make me feel so welcome when I would come with Nancy to spend the weekends in Dallas. She always had "my" room ready. All her crocheted items were so wonderful to receive and they will be especially treasured now. Patti Bundrant

Through knowing her son and daughter many decades ago, I was privileged to meet Mrs Steele while passing through Dallas just 2 years ago. What a nice lady and family. Heaven is richer for the loss.

Grandma was one of the nicest, kindest people. I used to love going to stay with her and Granddaddy as a child. They would let me stay up late on a school night to watch the show Hee-Haw and then the nightly news. She always kept cereal on hand that had sugar as the first ingredient, which I normally wasn't allowed to eat. When I lived with her during my teen years she never raised her voice to me even when I deserved a good 'talking to', which was often. She became a second mother to me and taught me how to sew, bake cinnamon rolls and NOT get road rage when driving. (That last one didn't really stick.) She never judged me and my strange ways and I love her for that. I will miss her a lot and I hope she is finally at peace. Love you Grandma! Alex Steele
