Jean Oleata Vining's Obituary
VINING, JEAN O. YOUNG Our beloved mother and grandmother (Granny) went home to Heaven after a short illness. Born in Columbus, OH on August 4, 1927 to George M. and Nellie E. Young and passed into eternal life on December 11, 2007 in Dallas, TX. Preceded in death by parents, husband, one son, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include children and spouses, Joe and Karla Vining (Round Rock), Jerry and Denise Vining (Garland), Patricia and Dick Powell (Duncanville), Allison (Bones) and Susie Vining (Blaine, TN), Matt Vining (Dallas), daughter-in-law, Carolyn Vining (Duncanville); 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; best friend and travel companion, Myra Lovell; Sunday lunch companion and good friend, Wanda Roe. Jean is also survived by a large extended family, friends and pets. Jean was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Garland. She was very active in the Garland Senior Center bowling, traveling and dance group; Red Hats; ABWA-Vanguard Group; and Bunko. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Thursday, December 13th at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 4 PM, Friday, December 14th at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 2929 S. First St., Garland, TX 75041 or charity of choice.
