Jeanella Mae (East) Jackson's Obituary
August 20, 1941- March 19, 2021
Jeanella Mae "Jeanne" Jackson entered into eternal life on March 19, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Jeanne was born to Pauline and John East in Wewoka, Oklahoma on August 20, 1941. The fourth of eight children, Jeanne grew up in Brazoria County, TX, and graduated from Arlington high school in 1959.
As a young woman, Jeanne made her way to Houston, where her infectious laugh and sparkling blue eyes drew the attention of Albert D. Jackson, the love of her life. The couple was married on Valentine’s Day (1964), befitting their extraordinary love for one another, and soon relocated to Dallas. They built their dream house in Flower Mound, TX, where they raised the boys. Though Jeanne lost Al to Alzheimer’s disease in 1996, Jeanne remained in Dallas. Throughout Jeanne’s professional life, Jeanne was a bookkeeper first for a textile firm, then as a partner with husband Al’s sales business, and her own retail business. She later managed the books for an international real estate firm based in Dallas for over 20 years.
Jeanne had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always quick to laugh and loved traveling with her many friends. She doted on her four grandchildren; she would rock a sleeping baby for hours and hosted “Nana Camp” in Dallas each summer for her granddaughters.
Jeanne Jackson is survived by sons, Eric (Roxanne) Jackson, William (Amy Langenkamp) Jackson; and grandchildren, Emma Jackson, Vivian Jackson, Elliott Jackson, and Lucinda Jackson. She is also survived by siblings, Vernon East, Mary Stamas, Johnny East, and Gladys Turner. She is preceded in death by parents, Pauline and John East; husband, Albert Jackson; brothers, James and Howard East; sister, Caroline Fels; and brothers-in-law, Chester Fels and John Stamas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make donation in Jeanne’s honor to a breast cancer non-profit of your choice.
A visitation will be held at 10-11:30 AM Thursday, July 22, 2021, with burial services immediately following, both at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue Dallas, TX 75243.
