Jeanette Hanks' Obituary
Jeanette Hanks, also known as Nette, Mom, Momma, Nanny, Aunt Nette, to those who knew and loved her went to be with her Lord and Savior July 23, 2020. She was the embodiment of the term “family Matriarch” to a large extended family that included not only true family but many friends.
Her greatest joy was her immediate family of 4 children, 9 grand children and soon to be 14 great grands. She loved spoiling them with the most amazing Christmases any child could imagine and parties for any occasion. Always the consummate host with the love of her life, husband Dale, everyone was welcome at the Hanks home.
Pride in her family spilled over to her pride for the family businesses that she and Dale laid the foundation for and continue to be a true “family business”.
Jeanette spent her entire life as a Dallas resident thus cultivating a long line of friends that she and Dale thought of as family. Whether it was a good card game or meeting “the McKinney Crew” on Friday night for dinner, she was always eager to share time with her friends. Her love of friends stretched all the way to Bossier and “the boats” where she was treated like a queen and always made those whose path she crossed feel special as well.
Jeanette is survived by Her Daughter and Son-in-law Robbie and Terry Sutton, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Robin Hanks and sons Doug and Greg Hanks. Her siblings, identical twin Jeanene Nations, twin brothers and sisters-in law Ron and Joni & Don and Annette Thompson, as well as a host of extended family.
Our family would love to celebrate Jeanette’s life with everyone she touched, but due to the current climate of social distancing that will not be possible. A private grave side service will be held Friday, August 7th followed by a family service at 11:00 AM at the Heights Baptist Church 201 W. Renner Rd, Richardson, Tx. 75080. This service will be live streamed on Robbie Sutton’s Facebook page. Please send Robbie a friend request if you would like to join us and are not currently her friend on Facebook.
