Jeanette Ann McCrary's Obituary
Life began for Jeanette on a cold winter day in November, to John D. Munson Sr. and Iona M. Alexander Munson. Growing up, she was lovingly given the name “Ga Ga” by her younger brother John D. Munson, Jr.Jeanette attended school in Wichita, Kansas, and met and fell in love with James A. McCrary. They would soon marry in November of 1960 and would quickly begin making a family. After moving to Oklahoma and Nebraska, the family settled in Dallas, Texas. Her only mandate to her husband James was that they had to live in an exemplary school district that would offer their children the best education available. Jeanette was always on the move and never sat still. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and tried to support them in any school, sports and other activity in which they were involved. Even with some health challenges in her later years, Jeanette would not let that stop her. She remained active with her favorite pastimes which included spending time with her great-granddaughter, dressing to impress, cleaning her house, and buying things on sale, even if she didn’t need them.James and Jeannette were married for 27 years before James died tragically in an accident in 1987. The two were blessed with five wonderful children: Christy L. McCrary Boyd, Curtis McCrary, Ronald G. McCrary, RoMonte McCrary and Michael J. McCrary. Jeanette is survived by her brother John D. Munson Jr. (sons Kevin, Vincent and Jeffrey) as well as her cherished and loved grandchildren Chasmyn, Devienne, Trelyn, D’mond, James II, Zoe, Raimi and Amyira. Special family and loved ones include Roselyn McCrary, Joanne McCrary, Yolanda McCrary, Anitra Hodge, god-sons Stephen and Mitchell Hodge, god-daughter Porsha Bradshaw, Charles and Ruth McCrary (brother and sister-in-law), Willie and Charlene McCrary (brother and sister-in-law), sisters-in-law Juanita Muse and Helen Whitmore (Jessie), uncle Robert Holder, Charles and Linda Lynch, Dorothy Bradshaw, and Portia Nicholson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Visitation for Jeanette will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home in Memorial Chapel from 6-8:00p.m. Funeral service will be 11:00a.m., Friday, November 4, 2017 at Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas.
