Jeanne Barbara Housley's Obituary
Jeanne was born in Celina, Texas to Glen Grady and Katy Lorene Malone Ownsby, the descendants of pioneer Collin County families. Preceded in death by her grandparents of Celina, James Monroe and Hattie Lee Hathaway Malone and James William and Mary G Perkins Ownsby, her father and mother Glen G. & K. Lorene Malone Ownsby and her brother Bill Ownsby of Richardson. Survived by her husband of 66 years, Burton W. Housley; her daughter and her husband, Sheila and David Greer; her son and his wife, Clint and Laurie Housley; grandchildren, Nick and his wife, Ashlee and Chance Housley, Harley and Lily, Shelby and Mercedes, two nieces, Elizabeth Moss of Tennessee and Michelle Lindsey of Arizona; two great nieces and countless others whom she held dear. Jeanne was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Richardson, the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Richardson Woman’s Club, Richardson Historical Society and the Elizabeth Thompson Book Club.Funeral service with Gerald Ware officiating will be held Friday, Sept 8 at 10 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel. There will be a brief remembrance by Jeanne’s DAR friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Cliffhangers Class from First Baptist Church of Richardson.Rather than flowers, Jeanne and her family request donations are made to Scottish Rite Hospital or the children’s charity of your choice.The family will be pleased to receive visitors during the afternoon of Thursday, Sept 7 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
