Jeanne Rumley's Obituary
Jeanne Beauchamp Rumley – 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 after a long illness at: The Plaza at Edgemere in Dallas, Texas. Jeanne was born in Sherman, Texas on Saturday, November 18, 1939 to the late, John H. Beauchamp (Johnny) and Agnes J. Beauchamp. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1956 prior to attending S.M.U. and then graduating from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1962, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She married her late husband of 60 years, John L. Rumley, DDS in 1957. Not long thereafter, John, Jr. was born and Jeanne became the breadwinner for the family as John, Sr. continued his studies at S.M.U. and later at Baylor College of Dentistry opening his Park Cities Dental Practice in 1966. She became a stay at home mom in 1968. Both Jeanne and John, Sr. were active members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church (HPPC) throughout their lives together. She served the church in many capacities with her final role being as a Parish Shepherd with the Deacon’s Ministry. Jeanne and John, Sr. were also active volunteers for the DFW Salvation Army. Jeanne was a member of the Dallas Woman’s Club, Dallas County Dental Society Auxiliary and the Dallas County Dental Hygiene Society. Family and friends will always remember her wonderful smile as well as her very generous and caring nature. “Aren’t we having fun,” was a statement she was famous to ask at many family events. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her sister: Nancy Ellen Beauchamp and her children: John Rumley, Jr. and wife Jan, Scott Rumley and wife Heather, and Mary Jane Rumley. Jeanne was blessed with 6 grandchildren: step-grandchildren, Rachael Boyd and husband Bryan, Andrew Allen and wife Nicole, and grandchildren, Max and Josie Balsley, and Christopher and Reagan Rumley, as well as 2 step great-grandchildren: Emma Boyd and Lucy Boyd. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Bill Woodard, M.D., as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Through God’s grace in her acceptance of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she is reunited with those family and friends who have gone before her, no longer broken and sick. At this time, funeral services for Ms. Jeanne Rumley are as follows: A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Restland Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow.
