Jeannine Scott's Obituary
Jeannine Boyce Scott died May 15, 2018, at the age of 78, in Allen, Texas, leaving a legacy of love and kindness. Born Dorothy Jeannine Ramsey in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 14, 1939, Jeannine moved to Richardson, Texas, in 1966. She liked to tell people, “I got here as fast as I could.” Jeannine devoted her life to being a supportive and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, the outdoors and nature. She was fascinated by bluebirds and hummingbirds and crazy about animals of all kinds. A true “people person,” Jeannine worked in personnel management for Marshall Fields and Sanger Harris in Dallas during the 1980s. She later turned her passion for cooking and entertaining into corporate catering and floral design as co-owner of On The Rise, which served the telecom corridor of North Dallas throughout the 1990s. As a resident of Van Alstyne, Jeannine enjoyed volunteering with Great Days of Service and Friends of the Library. She will be remembered as one who smiled freely and often and sowed seeds of goodness wherever she went. Jeannine is survived by her daughter Marcy Burchett and husband Chet of Richmond, England; son David Boyce and wife Kariann Sokulsky of Silver City, NM; brother Don Ramsey and wife Linda of Tampa FL; sister Cheryl Torregiante and husband Dave of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren — John Boyce (wife Rosita) of Stilwell, OK; Garrett Burchett of Austin, TX,; Sam, Kate and Boone Boyce of Silver City, NM; one great-grandson, Kingston Boyce of Stilwell, OK; and eight nieces and nephews. Jeannine is preceded in death by parents Dorothy and Verland Ramsey; her eldest son, Jeffery Boyce; and grandson Chester Burchett II. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 4 at Restland Funeral Home’s Wildwood Chapel in Richardson, TX.
