Geneva (Jennie) Louise Briones' Obituary
GENEVA, (JENNIE), LOUISE DENDY BRIONES, Beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2017. Born August 28th, 1924 to James Roy Moore and Gertie Aurora (Russell) Moore in Marshall, TX. She was the eldest of ten children.Geneva, fondly known to everyone as Jennie, was married to James Caphene Dendy for 31 years. She will be laid to rest beside her 2nd husband of 9 years, Willie Briones.Along with her parents and both husbands, she is preceded in death by her siblings, James Roy Jr., Clarence Ebbie, Dorothy Mae, Mary Katherine O’dell Moore, William G., and baby sister triplets. Also daughter-in-law Barbara (Cleveland) Dendy and son-in-law Terry Lloyd Webster.She is survived by her sister, Nettie Lois Dolan of Liberty, TX; sons, Allen Lee and Gary Wayne Dendy (wife Lezlie); daughters, Debra Lynn, and Brenda Sue Dendy Davis (husband Larry), all residing in the Dallas Metroplex Area; grandchildren, Erica, Adria, Nathanial and Noah; three great-grandchildren, Bethany, Andrew, and William.After attending High School in Marshall she decided to join the WWII war effort and moved to Dallas. She was a “Rosie the Riveter” at the North American Aviation Plant from 1943-45. Nicknamed “Speedy”, she worked on the P-51 and B-24 lines. Afterward, she met and married James (Jim), and raised their family of 4 children. She was devoted to family, friends, helping others, and active in the community, always giving of herself and volunteering her time and effort. She was also elected to the City of Garland Housing Board and served from 1988 – 92.Jennie had everlasting faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of First Christian Church of Garland for many years and a member of the Ruth Mix Bible Study Class. Jennie was an outstanding lady who loved people and was loved by those who felt her touch She was truly one of a kind and will greatly missed.Visitation begins at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 18th, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas Tx, in the Abbey Chapel. Memorial services will be held right after at 12:00 PM. Graveside services will follow.
