Jennie Mae Ellis' Obituary
Jennie Mae Ellis, 62, of Arlington Texas passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 in Cedar Hill, Texas. She was born on May 21, 1926, to William Albert Thompson and Joan Thompson in Manhattan, New York. Jennie married Elmer Jackson Ellis on February 5, 1949 in New York. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shild, NY Telephone, and AMF Bowling. Jennie was a long time foster parent. She attended St. James Presbyterian Church in New York and was married there in 1949. Jennie moved from Amityville, Long Island, New York to Texas in 1988 to join her family and to seek relief for her arthritis from the cold winters. She will be remembered as a loving person who always had a kind word when speaking of others. Jeannie was proud of her family, and enjoyed telling others of their successes in business, education, and sports.She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Walker (Michael) of Amityville, New York; son, Rodney Ellis (Carol) of Cedar Hill, Texas; foster daughters, Rosemary Rosa, Carmen Vasquez, Evelyn Vasquez, and Kathi Jones; brother, Robert Thompson (Carmen) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Jasmine Walker, A.J. Walker, Ieasia Walker, and Brian Ellis; and great grandchildren, Giovannie Walker, Melaina Kirk, Rocket Ellie, Tiger Ellis, and Jett Bajoie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Jackson Ellis; son, Steven Albert Ellis; and grandson, Edgar Jackson Ellis.A graveside service for Ms. Jennie Mae Ellis will be held on Thursday morning June 28, 2018, at 10:30 AM at The DFW National Cemetery.Funeral arrangements for Ms. Jennie Mae Ellis have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
