Jennie Sue Grimes' Obituary
Jennie Sue Grimes was born on December 15, 1939, and passed away on February 5, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years William Jackson, and survived by her sons; William Kevin, and Keith Alan.
Sue was born and raised in Black Rock, Arkansas. Once she graduated high school, she moved to Texas where she started her first job as a switchboard operator for the phone company. She then worked as a stenographer for the American Standard Corporation. After that she became a legal secretary for Texas Instruments where she worked up until she retired in 1997.
Sue married the love of her life, William Jackson Grimes in 1965. They shared a love for dancing which they did throughout the years. They were members of the Country & Western dance club the "Country Cruisers". Sue and Jack also enjoyed traveling which included several cruises and several trips to Europe.
Sue was a loving wife to Jack and devoted mother to her sons, Kevin and Keith. One thing she loved was the time she got to spend with her friends and family to visit and play her favorite card game known as Canasta.
Sue was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. Her unwavering love and strength were the pillars of her family's foundation. Though she may no longer be with us in person, Sue's memory will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with her love and wisdom.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Sue's life will be held at 1:00 on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Big Springs Babtist Church (6538 North Jupiter Road, 75044, Garland). Burial to follow at 3 pm at Restland Memorial Park.
Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance and share stories of her life. There will be a time of visitation and lunch starting one hour prior to the service.
