My heart goes out to all Jill’s family. She was simply the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She was blessed with attentive children and her own personal strength, never giving in to adversity or actual pain. We never saw each other as ex-sisters-in-law. We remained sisters-in-law. Jill Rankin was my mother-in-law, and she always showed me incredible kindness and acceptance. Though small in stature, she had a personality that was anything but. Her words could be blunt and direct, but she always spoke with honesty as she saw it. I loved how her voice would rise a few octaves whenever she spoke to or about her grandchildren. She was generally reserved, but in those moments when she let loose, it was easy to see where my husband got his personality and sense of humor. She was a true blessing to her family, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have known her. Love you, Jill. Until we meet again in heaven.
