Jerry Clement Bush's Obituary
BUSH, JERRY CLEMENT was born December 4, 1931 in Fort Worth, TX and passed away August 7, 2013 in Plano, TX. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a dedicated family man who loved teaching his grandchildren and playing games with them. Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Bush; father, Clem Bush; mother, Golden Bush; and sister, Betty Akers Hooten. He is survived by his wife, Lynette Bush; daughter, Jeri Bush; son, Steve Bush; grandchildren, Devon and Calli Bush; sister and brother-in-law, Carmen and James Arnold; sister and brother-in-law, Cherrie and Leonard Land; brother and sister-in-law, H.B. and Pam Bush; and loving family and friends. Jerry and Lynette met at while both were at North Texas State University and married in 1955 in Kermit, Texas. They started their married life in Denton but moved to Dallas when he started work at Sears, Roebuck & Co. Jerry’s job took him and the family to various cities around Texas, which allowed lifelong friendships to be born. The family’s last move was to Plano, in 1975, where the family has been based ever since. Jerry retired from Sears after 35 years and changed his focus from projects at work to projects in the home. Jerry and Lynette joined Grace Community Church, now LifePoint Church, in its formative years and developed many lasting friendships. Jerry loved to travel and visited places every chance he got. Jerry and Lynette travelled the world, from Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and throughout Europe. They toured the four corners of the US, including several trips to Alaska to visit friends. In 1999 Jerry traveled with Jeri and Steve to Russia, when the family was expanded with Jeri’s adoption of Devon and Calli. Jerry and Lynette’s lives were forever changed with the joy that their grandchildren brought to their lives. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Lifepoint Church, 4501 Hedgecoxe Rd., Plano, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Jerry will be greatly missed. The family appreciates the love and support given.
