I met Jerry in 1963 when we were attending Palmetto High School. We were both interested in mechanical things and Jerry had a Mustang motor scooter that he decided he wanted to make faster by installing a Triumph motorcycle engine. That was the project for both of us in metal shop that year. That was the start of a friendship that spread over nearly six decades. During that time we would sometimes be so busy that we didn't communicate with each other for months, but then we would call and after email came around we would share messages regularly. Jerry was very proud of his family. He also shared many story's about his involvement with the Exchange Club and the benefits they provided to the community. Above all, Jerry had a great love of God and his country. In 2019 he and Mary made the journey to Bowling Green, KY to visit with us when we were racing there. It was wonderful to see them and we had some great conversations. Our sympathies and prayers are with Mary and family. Your loss is terrible, but we know you also have a strong faith in God who will help you through.
Jerry will be missed, but it was wonderful to have been able to share a small portion of his life.
