Jerry Wayne DeWees' Obituary
Mr. Jerry Wayne DeWees, age 83, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 19, 2025, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Born on September 3, 1941, in Dallas to the late Archie and Opal DeWees. Jerry was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Jerry was a dedicated employee for more than 45 years at Dresser Industries - Halliburton. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed working on his model trains, collecting coins, fishing, hunting but most of all attending his grandchildren’s events. His love for family and his hobbies brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
Jerry leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Lisa Scott and husband Curtis, Jodie Cates and husband Michael, one son Craig DeWees and fiancee Denise, and his sister Janice Byrd and husband Larry. He also leaves behind his greatest pleasure in life, his grandchildren, Brittany and husband Clayton, Abbie, Sadie, Megan and Erik, and Cooper. He was preceeded in death by his parents Archie and Opal DeWees, brothers Donald and Richard, and grandson Travis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30. Funeral service at 10:30 with a graveside service to follow.
Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
