He was baptized as a teenager and instilled in his children the faith of God and to read the Bible. He worked at the family Fina Station, partnered by him and Uncle Bobby, then retired from American Products/Best Brand Products after 25 years, went back to work for Midway Oil Field, and again retired from the City of Crockett.
Jerry was an amazing father, friend and mentor. His unconditional love for his children and grandchildren was deeply felt. His life was full of hard work, man of his word and loved to spend time with his family. As a young man he had a great fondness of racing cars, motorcycle trips, and through his life loved boating, fishing, hunting, horses, four-wheeler rides, cooking, gardening, everything outdoors. He was smart, could do anything and was a great teacher for anyone to learn from! His laugh and smile were infectious, quick witted and extremely loving and caring.
