Jerry D. Hess' Obituary
Jerry Hess, 77 of Garland, Texas died at his home on June 15, 2022, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on June 12, 1945, in Waverly, Kansas to Roy and Marie Hess. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas in the 1950’s. Jerry graduated from Wichita Heights High School in 1963. After graduation, he went to work for KG&E and then Boeing. He soon met and married Carolyne Spurgin, on September 3, 1966. Their first daughter, Marci was born in Wichita.
In 1968, his career began with EDS where he became part of the EDS family for the next 40 years. The family moved to Topeka, Kansas and then to Tarrytown, New York where their second daughter Michele was born in 1971. Over the next 30 years the family moved all over the United States - Atlanta, San Francisco and then to Dallas in 1975.
The love of his life was Carolyne. They were married for 55 years. He was most proud of his family and especially his two grandsons, Clay, and Garett. He loved watching and going to all the boy’s baseball games. His hobbies were working in the yard, looking for antiques and collecting Pie Bird’s.
Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Hess.
He is survived by his wife Carolyne of Garland; daughter, Marci Crews (Kevin) of Frisco; grandchildren, Clay Crews (Emilee) of Aubrey and Garett Crews of Frisco; brother, Sonny Hess of Wichita; sisters, Donna Schroeder (Raymond) of Park City and Frances Sagerty (Terry) of Wichita and many cousins, nephews, and other family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 600 Jupiter Rd. Richardson, TX 75081.
