Jerry Wayne O'Rand's Obituary
A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend went to be with his Lord on June 16, 2009 at the age of 58. Jerry was born in Texarkana, TX on August 28, 1950 and was employed as the Facilities Manager at AVMG. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 24 years, Carol, daughter, Tammy Schmitt and husband, James Jordan, son, Jerry O’Rand and wife Wendi of Girard, KS, granddaughters Karen Schmitt, Chanee, and Caycee Gabauer, grandsons, Chaz Gabauer and Quinn O’Rand, brother, Phillip and wife Ramona, sister-in-law Peggy Kennedy and husband, Leon, brother-in-law, Jim Roddam and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. While serving his country in the United States Navy, Jerry did 2 tours of Vietnam aboard the USS Turner Joy. He loved riding the highways on his Harley with his friends. Special thanks to his Doctor and the staff at Hope Oncology in Mesquite, TX. Visitation will be Sunday, June 21 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, June 22 at 12:30 pm at Restland Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the SPCA or the American Cancer Society.
