Jerry Mack Perkins' Obituary
Jerry Perkins, who was better known as “Uncle Jerry”, was someone who was known to many & loved by all. He was born on July 9, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas to Flora & L.M. Perkins. He died suddenly on April 21, 2018, in Dallas, Texas surrounded by his family & loved ones. Jerry lived a very colorful & adventurous life & has often been described as a character. He had a sense of humor that matched no other & enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, & loved ones, of which he had many. When someone needed help, regardless, Jerry was always one of the first to try & help. Jerry loved to laugh & was often described as the life of the party. He never met a stranger & could fit easily into any situation. Uncle Jerry’s most memorable moments are ones of humor, adventure, laughter, & ones that will never be forgotten. Jerry was a simple & laid back man; someone who never wanted a fuss made about them. Uncle Jerry was a hard worker & worked as a house painter for 25 years. Although he had his hardships & challenges, he overcame them all. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Flora & L.M. Perkins & brother, Tommy Perkins. Jerry is survived by his sister & her husband, Judy & Ricky Bond & his sister, Judith Perkins; his daughter, Kristin Perkins, & her daughter, Kayla Perkins & his son, Evan Perkins. He is also survived by his wife & the love of his life for 22 years, Mattie Perkins, & her children, Steve Nelson, Wylie Miller, Nevil Nelson, & Sammy Miller. He is survived by 5 nephews, Monty & Michael Duncan, Christopher & Rusty Arp, & Shaquille Perkins & one niece, Felicia Hunter. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 6 great-nieces, and 1 great-nephew; all of who will miss him greatly. Uncle Jerry is someone who was unforgettable. Unfortunately, he was also someone who was taken too soon. While he is no longer here, he is still the life of the party & is now catching up with old friends & family at this very moment. Uncle Jerry’s memory, spirit, & stories will live on in the memories we have & the laughs he gave us while he was here with us. Jerry, or “Uncle Jerry”, may be gone but he will definitely never be forgotten.
