Jerry Kenneth Wagner Sr.'s Obituary
Jerry Kenneth Wagner Sr., age 79 of Mesquite, TX passed away on Friday, February 17th 2023 peacefully in his sleep in his home located in Princeton, TX. All he really wanted was one more Super Bowl win from the Dallas Cowboys, but we all know his children may never see this reality before they go....
Jerry was born in Honeygrove, Texas but lived a majority of his life where he raised his two boys in Mesquite, Texas. He was a very proud member of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in the fall of 1969.
He was an excellent cook that he learned much of from his mother (Mary) but he soon came into his own. He was an excellent chef of comfort food but what he will go down in our history books is the de facto King of Homemade Salsa! He really dedicated his life to his family, often coaching soccer and baseball games for his kids. He also loved bowling for many years and attending the many theater, hockey, tennis and swimming events for his grandchildren.
He will forever be missed and is survived by his two sons, Jerry Wagner Jr. and Rusty Wagner. He also is survived by two wonderful daughter in-laws, Jessica Wagner and Jennifer Wagner and eight grandchildren, including Jake, Keifer, Keegan, Kaden, Madison, Corbin, Allie and Elizabeth.
He had one sibling, his brother Roger who passed away many years ago.
Rest in Peace Big Jerry (as everyone knew him).
A Service for Mr. Jerry Kenneth Wagner Sr., will be Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
