Jesse Luna Perez Sr.'s Obituary
Jesse Luna Perez, devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, family man, and faithful servant of God, went home to be with the Lord on his birthday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born on December 26, 1962, in San Jose, California, Jesse’s early life was marked by difficult choices, and as a teenager he became involved in gang life on the streets of San Jose. Everything changed on May 19, 1982, when Jesse and his wife (then his girlfriend) attended a Bible study where they gave their lives to Jesus Christ. From that moment on, his life was transformed.
On January 21, 1984, Jesse married the love of his life, Valerie, beginning a marriage that would span nearly 42 years and stand as a testament to God’s redeeming grace, faithfulness, and love.
Jesse began a new journey marked by unwavering faith, genuine love, and wholehearted devotion to his family and calling. He was known for his strength, wisdom, and the compassionate way he led others with integrity. To many, he was a pastor, mentor, and friend. To us, he was our rock.
Jesse faithfully served Victory Outreach Church of Dallas for 31 years, answering God’s call with humility, consistency, and passion. He was deeply known for building meaningful relationships, his sense of humor, and the way he made people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. His love for God was evident in both his words and his life, and his ministry impacted countless lives.
Jesse loved the Lord deeply and dedicated his life to serving others. His faith spoke louder than words, and his example will continue to guide all who were blessed to know him. Even in the midst of illness, he remained steadfast, trusting God, encouraging those around him, and standing firm in his faith.
Above all, Jesse cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Perez; his children Tamara, Jesse, and Beatrice; his son-in-law Eduardo, daughter-in-law Elsa, and son-in-law Nick; and his treasured grandchildren Noah, Rocco, Azaria, Charlie, and Levi. He is also survived by his beloved siblings Maria, Matilda, Manuel, and Silvia, along with many extended family members and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.
We grieve his loss, but we rejoice knowing he is now in heaven reunited with loved ones, walking the streets of gold, and surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on January 10 at 10:30 a.m.
