Jessie Dean Brown's Obituary
BROWN, JESSIE DEAN was born November 12, 1927 in Carroll County, Mississippi to James Riley Brown and Nannie Lou Harbin Brown Thurman. He passed away December 18, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Jessie married Celestine Herring on September 1946 in Hernando, Mississippi. They moved to Dallas, Texas in 1949 where he went to work for Hipwell Sheet Metal. After 21 years working sheet metal he turned his passion of motorcycles into his dream and Browns Cycle Repair was born. He didn’t just work on motorcycles and sell parts, he was a motorcycle rider. In his early years ( known as Tennessee) he was a fierce competitor in competitions held in Texas and Louisiana. Later he started tour riding where he rode his motorcycles in all 48 states, Canada, and Mexico. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Celestine. Together they had 3 children, daughter, Deborah Kay Burton; sons, Gary Dean Brown (wife Ellen), David Leslie Brown (wife Reyna); 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 brother in law, 1 uncle, and 2 aunts. He loved his family and cherished his friendships with all his riding buddies, and his Browns Cycles customers. Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
