Jessie Geraldine Jepsen's Obituary
JEPSEN, JESSIE GERALDINE (ROUNDTREE) Life’s sunrise for Gerry was August 13, 1923, in Dallas, TX. Her sunset occurred and she departed for heaven from Christian Care Center, Mesquite, TX on June 3, 2009. Gerry was a wonderful Christian woman who loved God, her family and friends. After graduating from Irving High School in 1941 she went to work at Sears where she met Paul Jepsen. A courtship developed and soon love blossomed. As their love for each other grew, Gerry and Paul were married on March 4, 1944. The month after they celebrated their 60th anniversary Paul lost his struggle for life and Gerry began a new journey without him, demonstrating to her friends and family that she was able to overcome her loss and still enjoy life in her new residence at Christian Care Center. She will be fondly remembered and missed by the many whose lives she touched in such positive ways. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Williams of Boerne; daughter and son-in-law Gail and George Christian of Mesquite; son and daughter-in-law, Ronny and Jamee Jepsen of Rowlett; fourteen grandchildren, Gina, April, Sarah, Timothy, Ellen, Kate, David, Kimberly, Kim, Carrie, Candice, Jay, Jimmy, Jordan; and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Peggy Roundtree of Ennis. She was predeceased by her parents, Jesse and Adelia Roundtree; two sisters, Roberta Roundtree and Bettye Gleghorn; and husband, Paul Jepsen. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm, Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Christian Care Center Chapel, immediately followed by the funeral service. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Christian Care Center, 1000 Wiggins Pkwy., Mesquite, TX 75150 in memory of Gerry Jepsen.
