Jessie Ann Rhea's Obituary
Born in Dallas, TX on August 14, 1920 and passed away on January 28,2015, in Austin, TX. Jessie attended Vickery High School where she excelled in sports and academics, graduating valedictorian in the class of 1938. On June 29, 1940 Jessie began a long and happy marriage of 65+ years with William Odell (Bill) Rhea. Together they raised two sons, Paul and Tom. She was a member of Vickery and Frisco Methodist Churches, and later the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Athens, TX. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband Bill Rhea, father Tandy Curtis Bruce, mother Nancy Ann (Haley) Bruce, twin sister Bessie Stringfellow, brothers Tommy, Price, and Chester Bruce, and daughter-in-law Julia Rhea. She is survived by her sons Paul and Tom Rhea, daughter-in-law Linda Rhea, six grand children; fourteen great grand children, and many other family and friends who loved Jessie and will cherish their memories of her forever. Visitation 4-6 pm, Monday, February 2, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Service 12:30 pm, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
