Jesus De La Cruz's Obituary
Jesus De La Cruz, 66, passed away on April 15, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on June 14, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas to Damaso De La Cruz and Eusebia De La Cruz. He was the 2nd of 6 children and attended Mark Twain and Herff Elementary. After high school graduation, he began a career in the apparel industry. Jesus retired in 2015 after serving for 30 years. He was baptized into the Church of Christ, January 1972, and was a member of Beltline Road Church of Christ and Josey Lane Church of Christ. Attending church was most important to Jesus. In his retirement, Jesus was involved with his church as a song director, church hymns were his favorite songs. He married Monica on December 17, 2010 and they made their home in Dallas, Tx. His family and special friends were most important to him. Five words that would most describe Jesus is a strong, spiritual, loving, special and compassionate. His favorite hobbies and past times included singing with the church, attending church and laughing with his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Damaso De La Cruz; brothers, Robert De La Cruz and Miguel De La Cruz. Jesus is survived by his mother, Eusebia De La Cruz; spouse, Monica R. De La Cruz; daughters, Brenda Casanova, Debra Smyers and husband, Craig; step-children, Helen Cruz and Gerardo Cruz; grandchildren, Marissa Gooden, Casiano Casanova, Ceana Casanova; siblings, Manuel De La Cruz and wife, Bobbi, Ernest De La Cruz and wife, Cindy, Virginia Cavello and husband, Carlos. Pallbearers will be Casiano Jesus Casanova, Tali Rodriguez, Carlos Cavello, Jesse Perez, Robert Cavello, Miguel De La Cruz. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 1 PM at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
