Jim Baumgartner's Obituary
BAUMGARTNER, JIM was born in National City, California on September 11, 1943 to James and Melba Baumgartner. He grew up right outside of San Diego in Chula Vista, California with his parents, younger sister, Gypsy Baumgartner Wayne, and adopted brother, Jack Davidson. While attending high school in Chula Vista, he met Barbara, the love of his life. After graduating high school, Jim attended UC Berkley where he received his undergraduate degree. He then relocated to Austin, Texas where he earned his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After law school, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he landed a job at Vial, Hamilton, Koch, Tubb, Knox, and Stradley. He remained at Vial Hamilton for 31 years and was the managing partner there for 16. He left in 2003 to open Baumgartner, Billings, and Bloom where he remained until his death.He is survived by his wife, Barbara Baumgartner, who he loved since the age of 15 and spent the better part of 54 years; his sister and brother: Gypsy and Jack; his children and their families: John and his children: Erica, Lauren, Karen, and Emily, Shad (Lisa) and his children: Shad Jr., Tristan, and James; his daughter, Brooke and her son, Tate as well as a host of extended family and friends. Jim was respected and admired by those who came across him and loved and adored by his family who take peace in knowing he accepted Christ as his Savior and is in Heaven. Isaiah 43: 1-3 This is what the Lord says – He who created you, He who formed you. Fear not for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name. You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The flames won’t set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, your Savior. Bask in these words.
