Jim was one of the kindest people I have known. He was a great mentor to me and always had good advice about work and personal life. I still have some of his short writings that I have enjoyed reviewing over the years.
Jim was no doubt the most inspirational person in my life. His spirit led everything he did in life and his impact on so many people left us all better for knowing him. I asked him once what he contributed Janet and his amazing marriage to and without missing a beat he jokingly laughed and said, “That’s easy! She lets me think all the good ideas are mine!” I am happy they are reunited with Jesus and look forward to seeing them again one day. Jim’s life will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life and I will always smile when I think of him.
I worked with Jim back in the EDS days really enjoyed and respected him so sorry to the family for your loss
Jim hired me as well, taking a risk on a high school history teacher for training as an industrial engineer and manager. He was my mentor and guide. We touched base again on one of his trips to London and then when I transferred to Dayton, Ohio in the early 90s. He fostered respect, commitment, and loyalty in an age of growing impatience with corporate culture. I wish I could have seen him one more time. I also wish I could be there to celebrate his life with others who benefited from his wisdom, fierce values, and gentle presence.
Jim was a bright and positive light in our life! Every morning we enjoyed seeing him walk Luna. At first it was a friendly chat and later he took genuine interest in working with Fenway, our golden retriever, offering training Sunday afternoons so he, too, could be a therapy dog. Jim was an extraordinary man with a tremendous love for his family, faith and life. Rest In Peace.
Jim hired me into EDS. He was a great guy and I am sorry to learn of his passing.
