Jim D Pearson's Obituary
Jim D. Pearson, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in McKinney, Texas. He was born to Oliver Augustus Pearson and Delilah Bernard on Friday February 2, 1945, in Dallas, Texas.
Jim grew up in Dallas Texas. He met Mary Donna Souza at a band competition in 8th grade and they married in July 1966. Jim graduated from North Texas State University in 1971 with a Banking and Finance Degree. Jim was a reserve Dallas Police Officer for a couple of years and a career spanning, passionate real estate appraiser. He was self-employed from 1979 to his retirement in 2017, at one time having three locations in Richardson, Irving, and Sherman. Jim was a real estate appraisal instructor and taught numerous classes on Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. He held many certifications and was very involved in the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, holding multiple board positions within the appraisal industry. Towards the end of his career, Jim worked with the US Department of Justice/FBI and the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board as a review appraiser and expert/opinion witness, something he really enjoyed. At his retirement, Jim expressed he hoped his 40 plus years as a broker and real estate appraiser was a positive influence on the industry.
Jim was an active member of several humanitarian service organizations and served his community as a member of Richardson Noon Lions Club from 1971-1992, Richardson Central Rotary and McKinney Sunrise Rotary Club from 2007-2012, holding various officer positions.
Jim lived life to the fullest. He was an avid water and snow skier and shared that passion with his children. At the family farm, Jim taught his children how to shoot guns, ride motorcycles, ride horses and most importantly play dominos.
Jim married Carol Jennings in December 1997 and was with her until her death in 2015.
Jim is survived by his children Jennifer DuBois (Chris) and Bryan Pearson (Lindy). He has four beautiful granddaughters whom he adored. Kerigan Patak (Preston), Ashlee Kent, Kaylee Kent and Emma Pearson.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Carol Pearson, brothers Duane Pearson, Clarence Pearson, Oliver Pearson Jr, sister Louise Marshall and parents Oliver and Delilah Pearson.
Jim leaves his loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
