Jimmie Mae Harbor's Obituary
Jimmie Mae Merritt Harbor, age 95, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, in Richardson, Texas. She was born on September 7, 1923 in Forreston, Texas to Firm and Grace Merritt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clovis Harbor, and her granddaughter, Lori Falk.She is survived by her children, Flora Becket, Peggy McNiel, Clovis Harbor, Jr., Patti Popson and James Harbor. She is also survived by 2 sons-in-law, Mike Becket and George Popson, her daughter-in-law, Donna Harbor, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.Jimmie graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1941. She attended the University of North Texas until she moved to Washington during World War II to work for the Treasury Department. She had a variety of careers throughout her life. She worked as a legal secretary, church secretary and business owner. She spent 13 years working in the Benefits Department of Southern Methodist University and retired in 1991 as the Associate Director of Benefits. She retired again in 2007 from Today’s Staffing as a collector.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 2, at 12:30 in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will start at 11:30 a.m.
