Jimmie Lou Horton's Obituary
HORTON, JIMMIE LOU (PERKINS) – 77 of Dallas, Texas was born September 17, 1934 in Longview, Texas and passed away December 21, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Jimmie is the daughter of James Andrew Perkins and Lucille Hunt Perkins Taft. Jimmie moved to Dallas in 1952 and graduated from Sunset High School in 1953. She was a member of Heights View Baptist Church where she met her husband, Eddie Earl Horton. They married in 1955 and had two daughters, Kimberly and Kelley. Jimmie and her husband Eddie were Electrical Contractors in the Dallas area from 1973 to 1999. In addition to Jimmie’s career she was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, being involved in church and school activities with her family. Jimmie is survived by her husband of 56 years Eddie E. Horton, daughters Kimberly Horton (Mike Sheffield) of Laguna Park, Texas, and Kelley Crock (John) and their daughter Katie of Manchester, Iowa. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Velma Horton of Dallas, Texas and two sisters Betty Jean Woodard of Ringgold, LA and Gay Nell Hammond (Rommy Hammond III) of Memphis, TN, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association . Visitation from 6-8pm, Tuesday December 27, 2011. Service at 10am, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
