Jimmie Lue Loyd's Obituary
Jimmie Lue died Friday, January 30, 2009. Jimmie was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma on April 2, 1930 to James and Kathryn Parkinson. She grew up in Wagoner and attended Oklahoma State University where she met and married her college sweetheart, Alex Loyd. They made their home in Dallas, where they raised three wonderful children. Jimmie’s passion for fashion led her to a twenty-five year career in sales with Lilly Dodson and Escada. Jimmie was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge, painting and volunteering at her church, where she had been a member for over 40 years. She was a member of the Richardson Woman’s Club and Northwood Woman’s Club. Preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Sue Lee; husband and granddaughter, Dani. Jimmie is survived by son, Dan and wife Sue Loyd; daughter, Kathy and husband Ken Roberts; son, Chip and wife Debbie Loyd, Lisa Loyd, niece and nephew, Lori Perkins and Jim Lee along with her beloved grandchildren; Travis, Alexandria, Alex and Ashley. Everyone enjoyed Jimmie’s love of life, sense of humor and giving spirit She felt her greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Church of Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, TX 75254. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or UTSW Medical Center Cancer Foundation.
