Jimmie Lawrence Magill's Obituary
Jimmie L. Magill, “Grandpa Jim” passed away on April 25th 2015, at the age of 82. He was born to Marshall P. and Ethel Magill in San Angelo on April 17, 1933. After graduating from the University of Texas, he met and married Betty Sue Minor on November 23rd, 1974. His survivors include cherished wife Betty Sue Magill, sister Genevieve Childster, stepson Steve Dunivent, and granddaughter Alyson Leigh Reed. He was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Wayne and Bill, and stepchildren Brian Dunivent and Connie Hainline. Grandpa Jim was tall in stature and in character. The bulk of his professional life was spent at Republic Bank, where he retired as a Vice President. He had a strong work ethic and travelled extensively. But what truly defined him and brought him joy were his family. He adored his family, always put them first, and had a very special relationship with his one and only grandchild, Alyson. Grandpa Jim never met a stranger; he was always friendly, out-going, and optimistic. He will be remembered for his ever present smile, his booming laugh, and the twinkle in his deep blue eyes. The family appreciates your prayers as we try to adjust to an earthly world without our dear, precious Grandpa Jim. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015, 8:30AM at Restland Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 9:30AM in The Abbey Mausoleum at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
