Always ready to help family, friends, and co-workers, Jim’s greatest wish in life was to die while helping someone, and indeed he did. A retired pharmacist, he served clients in Dallas, Haskell, and Garland, TX. As a mentor, his impact on individuals in pharmacy and other health care professions is immeasurable. His hobbies kept him busy as a woodworker, gardener, puzzle solver, auto builder and repairer, private pilot, and ultimate tinkerer. He and his close circle of friends gathered almost every evening to play games or eat dinner. Jim proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Restland Memorial Chapel followed by a graveside committal service. Visitation for those traveling to Dallas on Saturday will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. After the graveside service a reception with a “pecan pie toast” will be held at St. Philip’s United Methodist Church, 3717 Broadway Blvd., Garland, TX 75043.
